I'm Amanda...

I love working with Tradies! I've been working with electricians, plumbers, gasfitters, drainlayers and roofers since way back in 2007.

As a Tradie you are straight to the point and realise where your strengths are. I’m not a run-of-the-mill kind of person and my niche is understanding Tradies and their business and adding value to all aspects whether it be administration, accounts, job management or health and safety.

I am passionate about simPRO & Fergus job management software and love knowing how it works, then teaching people how to use it and seeing them succeed. I like things to be done correctly the first time to keep a consistent level of quality, it helps everyone in the long run.

I've supported Management Teams and Project Managers with any administrative support they require. Ensuring things are done before they are asked for and utilising systems and technology to enable easy access to information, systems and procedures. All the while making sure that the accounts are up to date and that the staff were paid on time.

Xero Specialist

Esther has been keeping businesses financially on track since joining Virtual Coastie in 2022. With over five years of bookkeeping experience across construction, FMCG, and health, she knows how to keep accounts accurate, compliant, and running smoothly—so tradies can focus on the tools, not the paperwork.

In 2023, she earned her Bachelor of Accounting, further strengthening her expertise in bookkeeping and compliance. Then, in 2024, she became a mum to baby Eva, adding a whole new level of multitasking to her skillset!

Originally based in Auckland, Esther recently moved back to the Rai Valley in the South Island with her young family, swapping city life for a bit more space and fresh air. She’s passionate about supporting small businesses behind the scenes, ensuring cash flow is steady, accounts are tidy, and compliance is sorted.

When she’s not crunching numbers, Esther enjoys a relaxing holiday (though, after COVID, she’s up for almost anything!), a long black in hand, and a slice of baked cheesecake. If you need someone to keep your accounts in line and compliance stress-free, Esther’s got you covered!

Christa Swete

Operations Guru

When it comes to keeping tradies organised and in control, Christa is your Smooth Operator. Whether it’s Fergus, Mechanics Desk, or Xero, she knows how to fine-tune your job management systems, so you spend less time on admin and more time getting the job done.

With a background in customer service, logistics, and coordinating truck drivers, Christa thrives in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. She’s the first to dive in, find answers fast, and get things sorted before problems even arise—so you don’t have to.

A self-confessed petrolhead, Christa has a love for all things cars, speed, and engines. She approaches work the same way she approaches the road: fast, efficient, and always in control. After taking a break to be a stay-at-home mum, she’s back in the driver’s seat, helping tradies streamline their systems and keep their businesses running at full throttle.

When she’s not keeping clients organised, you’ll find Christa enjoying a soy caramel latte, sipping tequila (when the occasion calls for it), or baking a mean carrot cake with cream cheese icing and walnuts. She’d rather be on an adventure hike than lounging on a beach—unless there’s a margarita waiting at the end!

Fergus Whiz

Kal joined Virtual Coastie in April 2024 and has quickly become our go-to expert for Fergus quoting, favourites, and custom forms. Whether structuring quotes, fine-tuning frequently used items, or setting up custom forms, Kal ensures your Fergus workflows are smooth, efficient, and tailored to your business.

Raised in Motueka in the South Island, Kal later moved to Auckland, where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce in Management. With experience spanning marketing, admin, accounts, and property management, he brings a sharp eye for detail and a knack for getting things done efficiently.

Kal thrives on tech, AI, and automation, always looking for ways to simplify processes and save clients time. He’s tackled everything from earthworks and electrical to solar and landscaping, recently stepping up for a landscaping client’s quoting when their estimator was away. His ability to adapt quickly and manage complex projects makes him an invaluable asset to the team.

While he’s on the quieter side, Kal’s clear and precise communication keeps everything on track. Outside of work, he’s all about action and adventure—more of a "let’s go exploring" type than a beach lounger. A latte and sugar-free Red Bull keep him going, and if there’s chocolate cheesecake on offer, he won’t say no!
